MAMMOTHsound Pedals

Please note that pedals may not be dispatched immediately. Many of our pedals are made to order so there may be a delay, sometimes this will be weeks, sometimes days but if you want anything tweaking, need to specify what transistors you want or are at all concerned just get in touch with us on the myspace or email mammothsoundaudio@gmail.com. All postage prices are for the UK, please email or get in touch with us on the myspace for an international quote. Riff out.

The Jotun Fuzz MKII
A Jotun is a giant in norse mythology and we thought it was an apt name for this pedal as it summed up the sound! The pedal is a fuzz that's been designed with bass in mind, as we've always struggled to find a decent fuzz that keeps the low end intact and still sounds good, so we thought we'd design one ourselves! It's based on the Tonebender MKII which has had a major overhall to make it more suited to bass. The pedal has six controls; input impedance(switch between active or passive), gain, tone, volume, bias(to stop the pedal going farty on hot days) and clean blend.

The pedal comes with a choice of oc45's(pnp so will require a isolated power supply the sound is less harsh and has a flatter response than the clip) and ac187s(npn so can be daisy chained and has a more top endy response and is used in the clip).

Jotun Fuzz options

MAMMOTH booster

The MAMMOTH booster is essentially a single valve gain stage akin to the first gain stage you'd get in a valve guitar amplifier, so it can be used to just warm up your signal or to push your low gain amplifier into heavy distortion as shown in the clip!

This comes with a 1zh17b pentode russian valve as standard and provides roughly 20db of gain.

The Bubi Bear Fuzz

This fuzz is based upon a well known fuzz with a few modern modification to make it much more versitile and some hand picked oc140's which give the best definition and touch response out of all the transistors that i've tried.

The pedal has 4 knobs and a switch. The controls are Bias(to counteract hot weather overbiasing the transistors) impedence(this stops guitars with hot outputs overloading the input) gain volume and the switch controls how deep the guitar goes.

Options

Behemoth Overdrive

The behemoth overdrive is dynamic overdrive that cleans up with the volume knob and reacts well to the velocity of your attack. It has 3 controls clean blend, gain and volume, the gain takes it from slightly gritty boost(depending on pick ups) to full on distortion.

Diffractor
The Diffractor is a lofi pedal which in essence makes your instrument sound like it's being played through an old radio or grammarphone. This pedal works best with guitar or other more high frequency based instruments.

Uses an ac187 germanium transistor.

Chimæra
As the name may suggest the Chimæra is a passive feedback loop that feeds the signal from the pedal you place in the loop back into it's self creating a storm of sound. With the knob on the Chimæra you can control the extent to which the the pedal is fed back into itself. The Chimæra has a toggle switch that turns it into a normal true bypass looper.
